iFruit and Panoramic#
The Panoramic keypad phone has less storage than the iFruit smartphone, but uses less battery under similar conditions.
Texts and group chats#
Messages support drafts, number blocking, delivery status and group chats. New group members only receive messages sent after they join.
Deleting a text removes your phone’s copy. Recipients keep theirs. Texts can wait for a connection if either phone is out of reach.
Calls and voicemail#
Calls use written speech. People nearby hear your side of the conversation; speakerphone also lets them hear the caller.
Unanswered calls allow a written voicemail. Call history records times, duration and answered status, but does not save the conversation.
Signal and quiet modes#
Reception varies by location. Dropped calls have a short reconnection window before they end.
Silent mode keeps visual alerts. Do Not Disturb also suppresses message alerts and incoming ringing. Airplane mode cuts the network connection while leaving saved information accessible.
Batteries and charging#
Calls, screen use and weak signal drain battery at different rates. Low-power mode reduces screen drain. Batteries do not drain while you are offline.
Power banks have their own charge. Vehicle charging requires a running engine; public chargers can charge a phone or refill a power bank.
Tinkle credit and subscriptions#
Both phones use Tinkle prepaid credit. The iFruit also offers a subscription with automatic renewal. You can buy top-ups at a shop and view carrier receipts on your phone.
Prepaid credit pays for texts that reach the other phone and calls that someone answers. Unanswered calls and undelivered texts do not use up that credit.
